We normally hold in stock all items listed in the catalogue and have no minimum order. We welcome all orders large or small.
Callers are welcome but by prior appointment please. Folkestone area offers plenty of attractions for the day visitor, including trips to France by sea or tunnel. Hawkinge by car is some 5 minutes from Folkestone ( M20 junction 13) and is the home of the battle of Britain museum.TERMS OF BUSINESS.
Prices.
The price you see is the price you pay, no VAT applies, as we are not
VAT registered.
Remittance with order please.
We are happy to accept orders by post, phone or email. We accept payments by
open (uncrossed) postal order or by cheque (subject to normal conditions of use) which should be
crossed and made payable to: Folkestone Engineering Supplies. We also accept
payment by Visa, Mastercard, Switch and Delta cards, but please do not include
your card details within any email, as the process is not secure. Should you wish
to order via email, we will be please to receive your email and then phone you
for your card details prior to dispatch. Please remember to include your name,
daytime and evening phone numbers and delivery address with each order. We have
no minimum order value, but due to bank charges for orders under £10.00
(excluding postage and packaging) we only accept payment by credit/debit cards
or postal order (mail
order)/cash (collecting).
Minimum Lengths.
All lengths are nominal and normally supplied as a multiple of per unit of
sale (300mm, 150mm or 25mm) and will be to a tolerance of + or –
3mm (unless otherwise stated). Please ensure you order sufficient material to
machine to you finished size. The unit of sale indicates the normal minimum
length supplied, unless agreed with us at the time of ordering. For most
items you can order multiples of any of these standard units to a maximum parcel
length of 1500mm. We make no
charge for cutting.
Goods.
We do not normally supply goods on approval, defective goods will be
replaced free of charge. Goods returned to us for any other reason will incur a
20% restocking charge. We reserve the right to invoice goods and services at the price ruling
at the time of dispatch, however we will normally confirm with you any change in
price prior to dispatching the goods. Current prices will be as shown on our web
site.
Trade Description Act.
Every care has been taken to describe our goods correctly, any errors are
unintentional and we will be pleased to correct any error that we are informed
about.
Overseas Customers.
We currently only supply to the UK or EEC. EEC customers should please phone
or email prior to ordering to discuss method of payment and delivery fee, which
may also include a packaging fee.
Loss of Goods in Transit.
Once goods are dispatched our liability ceases, although we will do our best
to help find a lost delivery we cannot accept any responsibility for any loss
(or damage) in transit. Should customers not be available to receive goods on
delivery the goods may be either left without signature or returned to the
carriers depot. Liability will then be with the customer.
Delivery charges for non
material orders e.g. fasteners /taps and dies.
P
ost and Packaging (P&P) is £1.00 for all small machine screws, nuts and washers. i.e. 16BA to 8BA.For other orders containing only fasteners,
taps or dies please add 10% of the order value plus 52p
to a maximum of £4.40 (a minimum fee of £1.00 applies) to cover P&P,
which will normally be by letter post (however for orders over 1Kg in weight we
reserve the right to send the order by Royal Mail standard parcel service). A
certificate of posting is obtained for all goods dispatched by letter post and
therefore compensation to the value of £32 may be claimed for loss or damage.
We appreciate the complexity in determining P&P which was made complicated when the Royal Mail introduced charging by packet weight and size. We will always be pleased to determine actual postal costs for your order to ensure you pay the minimum P&P.
Delivery charges for orders containing
material.
For your assistance in calculating the
postage fee each metal item has its unit length weight shown in grams, but
please remember to include the packaging weight (see postal guide, inside back
cover).
Normally for metal orders over 2kg and £10.00 in value, no charge is made for
packaging, however items over 600mm (2ft) in length and some sheet material may
incur a packaging fee.
Orders greater than 30Kg or including a large area of sheet, may include
an additional delivery and packaging fee. Fasteners ordered together with metal
over 2Kg are delivered free and therefore only the metal delivery fee applies,
please see delivery charge for metal orders shown below.
Otherwise, please add the metal order delivery fee (shown below) together with
10% of the fasteners order value (to a maximum delivery fee of £7.50 for Zone
1). We will always determine actual postage and packaging costs and any
surplus will be credited to your next order.
Orders over 2kg are normally delivered by Parcel Force, goods dispatched
by Parcel Force include a pre-set level of insurance, should enhanced
compensation be required this must be requested at the time of ordering and the
appropriate fee paid (see back cover).
Small orders, total weight
including packaging less than 1.5kg
Weight not over 500g delivery is a fixed fee
£2.85 by first class letter post.
Weight not over 1Kg delivery is *£4.40 by first class letter post.
Weight not over 1.5Kg delivery is *£6.00 by first class letter post.
* For small orders between 501g and 1.5kg we
will always determine actual postage and packaging costs and any surplus will be
credited to your next order.

How to find us.
From Folkestone, head towards Canterbury on the A260 for approximately 4miles
to the village of Hawkinge.
Folkestone Engineering Supplies (not visible from the road) is on the right-hand side of Canterbury
road
adjacent to our bungalow (No 62) by the only set of traffic lights in the
village (shown as a yellow box on the map).
Off road parking for several cars is
available
in front of the bungalow. Please note the map below is as a guide only
as
new houses/roads are being built in the village.
